Core Temp autostart fails everytime

Post by zeronove »

the checkbox "Start Core Temp" with Windows doesn't work here; I'm on xp64 and build 0.99.5.27 - 64bit

I know it's not a big issue, only annoying ;-)

thanks for testing

...maybe my info was incomplete, let me say that it works with:
a new I7 920 with xp64
a laptop core 2 duo with vista 32 business

but...

it fails everytime with my old qx6700 extreme with xp64, previous versions worked fine

so maybe it's someway related to my system, any suggestion to double check it?

Not sure what fix imposter is talking about :|
It seems to work just fine here as well, both 32bit and 64bit versions tested on Win 2003 x64. After a restart Core Temp fires up right away.
It is possible that Core Temp has some trouble writing the necessary value into the registry on your system. Maybe there's some program which is capable of blocking registry access or something installed?
It also works on a per-user basis, for example if User A sets Core Temp to auto-start, User B will not be affected.

Didnt you mention you worked on something to do with coretemp and start up? or has MV calc making me start imagining conversations?

Nevermind, just to let you know that after deleting ini files, CoreTemp works fine as expected

right now it seems a so silly issue, maybe my ini files were messed up

sorry for wasting your time

Yes, I was talking about the problem where Core Temp would start before the taskbar and then you wouldn't see the system tray icons.
This problem should be fixed in the next release. Nothing to do with Core Temp failing to start in the first place.
