Kabini APU Wrong clock speed

W10 x64, AMD Athlon 5370; the multiplier can go up to 22x (in task manger / hwinfo), but CoreTemp (RC9) only shows a max of x11. I suspect the multiplier is divided by two in CoreTemp for some reason.

Could you please attach a register dump from Core Temp and TXT Report from CPUz?
I'll take a look to see what's wrong.

Thank you. This problem will be fixed in the next release.

Awesome :) Thanks. Been using coretemp since forever, wouldn't want to have to switch to anything else :D

Now that I look at it, the temperatures are also wrong. Should I post in a new thread or will this one do? I searched and it seems it is not so easy to determine the temperatures for the AMD CPUs and APUs. It is showing _something_ but once again it feels like the temperatures are halved (i.e. it's showing 22-25C when I believe the real temps are 44-50C - which the motherboard shows when inside the UEFI).

Do you need any more diag data if this can be fixed? If so, let me know!

Thanks for the hard work!

There's no need for a new thread. Here's a post I made on another thread which covers the problem.

Hmm, but when you think about it, it doesn't matter whether you are getting the absolute temperature or "distance from TJmax". If you know the TJMax (which is 76C for this CPU/APU as per the official AMD page - http://products.amd.com/en-us/search/AP ... Series/182 ) and you know the distance from it in degrees of celsius, then showing the actual temperature should be a matter of (TJmax - X) calculation, where X is the data you are getting from the CPU/APU. It doesn't really matter what I have selected, the result is calculated using the same "X" number, correct?

Which also brings me to realize that CoreTemp shows TJMax of this CPU to be 70C instead of 76C; can you please amend that? :o

TjMax is read directly from the CPU, and it's not really the same value as referred to by the datasheet.
It's the max temperature discussed in the article I linked to in my previous post.
There is no way to work the actual temperature from any of the available information.

Aha-- thanks! I got it. Quite odd that the datasheet and TJmax are not the same. And I get the thermal margin / "distance to Tjmax" thing now, and why my motherboard shows what it shows. Why can't AMD be more like intel :D

Anyway, thanks!

Clock speed works properly in 1.1 ! Thank you!
