I am using CoreTemp in Windows Server 2012 R2 with 2 x E5 2696 v2 CPUs.
It reads power, # of cores, speed and % of load correctly.
But 2 problems are evident.
1) Temperatures are about 10-12c lower at all load levels (including 100% load) than when I ran Windows 7 on this same machine.
I don't have a machine running Windows 8.1 to compare to, but I assume the offset would exist their too, since 2012 R2 and 8.1 share much of the same core.
I don't understand why the offset? Any ideas?
And more importantly any ideas how to easily determine which temperature is correct ??
2) The second problem is that when the CoreTemp app is on the display it is, of course, vertical.
I run the 1920x1200 display with the text sized to 150%
But with 24 cores, the data for the last 3 cores of CPU 2 runs off the bottom of the screen and is not visible.
The CoreTemp app isn't resizable manually and doesn't resize to fit the screen when bounced off the top of the screen, as many other apps do.
I really don't want to resize the text on the monitor for just 1 app.
Any ideas on how to fix this small issue?
