Weird Temp Readings FX-8320

Post by Jaster »

Hi

Just upgraded my 965BE to a 8320 and getting some weird incorrect readings. Let me give you a run down of my equipment.

8320 @ 4.45, 1.42V
M5a97 Pro
16Gb Vengeance DDR3 1600 @ 1650mhz
120GB Vertex 4 SSD
Radeon 7950 @ 1200, 5800 Memory
XFX 750W Pro 80plus PSU
Haf 922
Corsair H60 (Push/Pull)

Just upgraded from a 965 BE (It was a freeby from work). Everything seemed to be running fine until I delved into the OC. Cranked the OC up to 4.6 @ 1.46 V and upon reboot noticed my Coretemp had dropped from 27 to 21 idle. Ran HW Monitor and it was reading 44. Machine BSOD. Turned the OC down to 4.5. Ran passmark burn in. Temps were erratic going from as low as 11 up to 78 on coretemp however in HWmonitor it was reading a constant 46--56 (a bit high). Turned the OC down. Got a nice stable 4.45 and started dropping the voltage. Again coretemp was reading 11 idle, jumping to 45, then 70, then hovering around 30 then back to 11. All the time I'm monitoring it through HW monitor which was reading a constant incline and decline of temp relevant to the load never passing 47. I uninstalled Coretemp, reinstalled. Same thing. HWmonitor, OCCT, AI Suite are all reporting correct information regarding load and temperature however Coretemp is acting very erractic jumping all over the place.

Changed the polling rate to see if this improved.

Any idea's?
