I've been running RC7 on Win7 64 for some months now and it seems to be stable and the hanging issue has not occurred at all.

Hello!
If possible, I would like to test the RC7 too, I'm using windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, Asrock Z77 Extreme4 and i5 3470 cpu, the RC6 freezes the system. :(

TheCoolest, is CoreTemp08.rar the latest RC7 that you have? I got it in early January, there has to be a newer one...no?

Is there any chance for an "open beta" for Windows 8 Users, I would imagine I'm not the only one missing out on this great piece of Software. :(

No, there are no newer version that is suitable for normal use at this point.
More driver work is required to make Core Temp work correctly with systems which do not have a PM timer anymore.
As soon as I have something worth testing I will post an update.

Hi There,

I am having the same issue, als windows 8.1 64 bit. I also freeze up, but after a few minues the nVidia Driver comes up with a message that it stopped and has recovered. The system then works again.

Can I please try the RC7 build?

Josh

Hey, Swapz here. Been using CoreTemps for some time now and love it, i cant seem to find another program that can do it all the way CTemps does it!!!! Please if its not to hard for you could you please help me out with the RC 7 build. I just recently installed windows 8.1 as my OS. Installed coretemps and started to get what seems to be a common issue, the freezing. So bad i had to press the reset button on my case ( lol dont do that very much ). I also use the widget which i love.

If anyone here has the RC 7 build and is willing to help me out that would be awesome too, as im sure he is very busy. If i knew it would help get the program up and going i would love to donate if possible as well.

Awesome program!
Thanks so much for taking the time to make it.
Swapz

Would it be possible to also get hold of RC7 please.

Been running core temp since Windows Vista, 7, and 8. The program has never given me any issues until now. I'm currently running Windows 8.1 x64 ( CT RC6 x64) and it's 50/50 whether my PC will fully boot to a working desktop, core temp will always load ok but stop updating temps, I see the clock (also frozen), wallpaper shows ok and then nothing, no icons, system 99% is frozen.

I can do a CTRL-ALT-DEL, that page comes up instantly, can close it with Esc but just boots me back to the frozen desktop. Only a hard reboot will fix it.

Now this may happen maybe 1 to 4 more times in a row, then one more hard reboot and the PC fully boots to a working desktop, core temp work perfectly fine as well. I could reboot 3 times in a row and it will work fine. Reboot again and frozen.

It's a completely random issue.

I have also noticed, that after the welcome screen, the screen will be black for around 5 secs, then the desktop will show, whether the PC fully works or freezes. Disabling core temp, after the welcome screen it boots instantly to the desktop, no black screen at all

I can't replicate the freezing issue in VMware (Win 8.1 x64) but I can replicate the black screen issue.

I can run the PC for weeks with RC6 and not a single issue, booting up is the only issue.

Thanks for updating this program over the years, have tried others but this will always be my favourite CPU monitor.

My specs for reference are (all stock speeds),

Intel i7 3770k
ASRock Z77 Fatal1ty Professional (1.70 BIOS)
Kingston HyperX 16gb DDR3
Geforce 780 TI 3gb

Update:- Found a copy of RC7 and it no longer freezes at startup, rebooted 8 times in a row and not a single issue :D

I would also like to request a link to rc7. Waiting on this to finish pushing my system to its limits :D.
Also I do have a logitech keyboard and mouse, I know another user posted that is what he thought that was the conflict. My last reboot of windows crapped out and had to repair itself so I am not going to try disabling that to test though sorry.

Thanks in advance!
