Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
The same error happens to me!
I first downloaded the install version: the first time it loaded properly and displayed correct temps, from the second time it always hung my system, the mouse moves but I can't click on anything nor ctrl-alt-canc.
I disinstalled the program, downloaded the standalone x64 version, it ran fine the first time, but from the second time it hangs the system in the same way!
We have the same OS and RAM manufacturer. Which is your model?
Windows 8 Pro x64
MSI Z77A-G45 latest BIOS
Intel 2500K
G.Skill F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
I'm having the same problem (latest version).
Windows 8.1 x64
Asrock B85m Pro4
Intel i5 4570
Sometimes it works and freezes later and sometimes it freezes immediately after starting the program. Already tried compatibility mode etc.
EDIT: I get this kernel warning in the Event Viewer:
The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice
DriverNameLength 43
DriverName SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice
Status 3221226341
FailureNameLength 14
FailureName \Driver\WudfRd
Version 0
EDIT2: I just installed 0.99.8 and RC5 and it seems to work so far. You should really add previews CoreTemp version to your website though. It is hard to find older versions!

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
I have had the same experience, on Windows 8 and now 8.1 (Home Premium? Not Pro or Enterprise.)
Processor i7-4500U
But allow me to add this request: Could you please make a previous version available for download
in the meantime? I have not been able to find RC5 (for example) ... every link I found that claimed
to have it was really a link to the alcpu site, which of course gives me RC6.

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
Same problem here.
// CORETEMP Version: 1.0 RC6
// Hardware
-CPU: i5 3570k
-GPU: HD7870 OC - Gigabyte
-SSD: EVO 250 GB - Samsung (System Drive)
-Mainboard: Gigabyte DS3H - Z77 Chipset
// Software
-OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit
-Drivers: All are up to date
// ISSUE
After installation the 4 numbers appear in the taskbar showing the temperatur of all 4 cores. I can move the mouse but neither the desktop nor any other button or hotkey works. When I start the taskmanager by strg+alt+del I get a black screen and have to hard reset. Didn't have this problem on Win7 - x64 with 1.0 RC5
Cheers

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
This happened to me today on new Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit build.
I have been running RC5 on another Win 7 64-bit system for a couple of months with no such issue.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like the RC5 64-bit installer is available anywhere on the internet.

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
Have the same problem! Since Windows 8.1 Coretemp 1.0 RC6 crashes on start! As it seems the ALSysIO.sys has to be the problem. Sometimes everything works fine, but in the most case system hangs

I've uploaded a post RC5 build, can you see if it works or causes the same issue as before? With a small number of fixes.

No, nearly the same problem. CoreTemp starts, but system hangs. Clicking a few times on some windows, the windows shows up, or ALT CTRL DEL with some luck you get to the Taskmanager, but you can't do anything then reset.

same here, mouse moves but the rest freezes

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
I will get it guys, but I may need some help figuring out what is wrong.
I'm 99.99% sure the problem is somewhere in the driver, a change I made between RC5 and RC6.
You can help me figure it out by doing to following:
Download and extract MS DebugView: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96647.aspx
Run the program as administrator.
In 'Capture' check the following options:

Then go to File --> Log to file, choose where to save the log, as a txt file.
Then start Core Temp and let it run (even if hung) for a minute or two.
Then you can reboot, and post the resulting log file here. I'll go over it, maybe this will help me narrow down what the cause of this problem is.

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
I got the same problem. Before core temp was working really well But now can do nothing with it.
it's when i put the fsb option. Without core temp is working fine but since i activate this option my pc freeze.
Before this option make no freeze but now
I can't do what u tell us to do coolest because : When i start core temp pc freeze and i can go nothing ; i have to push the button on my tower to shut down computer..My computer is totaly freezed.
I try to Resolve problemes of compatibility : and try Window 7 setup but still freezing when i activate fsb option.
Tell me if i can anything to help you to fix this bug.
Srry for my english btw...
