Static temperature readings

Post by alexpgp »

If it wasn't for the fact that the Load values update from time to time, I would be hard put to say that Core Temp does much more than take a snapshot of temperature readings. :)

The first time I ran the app, my machine had been on for a while, and showed temperatures of about 59C for both cores. Just now, it's showing 29C and 26C for my CPU cores _and these numbers haven't changed at all since I fired up my machine_ despite variations in load that appear to average around 75%.

I'm attaching a short log file for reference.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers...

Try to run LinX on your system for a few minutes (keep a close eye on the temps) and see if the readings increase.
Many Penryn chips have a problem with reporting low temperature, it is usually referred to as "Sticky sensors".
