1.0 RC2: Overheat protection selection issue

Post by The_Assimilator »

If I go into the Overheat Protection Settings dialog, and the "Activate if TjMax is reached (5° below)" radio button is selected, and I try to select "Activate at the specified temperature", both radio buttons become selected. If I then close that dialog via the OK button and reopen it, "Activate if TjMax is reached (5° below)" is selected again and "Activate at the specified temperature" is deselected.

However, if I select the "Automatic" radio button and OK the dialog, the setting is saved correctly and I can then open the dialog again change it to "Activate at the specified temperature" (as I require) or "Activate if TjMax is reached (5° below)".

This is quite a worrying bug IMO because any power user who manually sets the max temp, expecting the app to use that, may not get the desired behavior which could lead to their processor being damaged if Core Temp does not function as they expect and their CPU doesn't support thermal throttling.

Also small nitpick: I have a QX9650 which has max TDP of 130W but Core Temp does not display its TDP.

Thanks for pointing out the bug. I will take care of it in the next release.
I checked this screen before and didn't find any problems, must be something new.

The TDP feature is only supported starting the Nehalem architecture.
