Incorrect value installed in registry key

Post by speedy1971 »

When you install CoreTemp, the registry key for the ALSysIO driver is corrupt.

On my system for example HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\ALSysIO: ImagePath Type REG_EXPAND_SZ has value \\?\D:\Temp\ALSysIO64.sys which of course is invalid. Does not seem to affect function but SystemExplorer picks this up as an error.

Normal?

Thanks

Yes, this is normal. Core Temp starts a driver when it's running, it extracts the SYS file into your temporary folder, loads it and deletes the file.
That might be why programs pick this up as potential registry corruption.
