CoreTemp produces Bluescreen on UEFI only Bios

Post by memphis »

Hello,

today i reinstalled the OS on my notebook (Lenovo T420) and enabled the UEFI only variant.
After installing, i tried to start CoreTemp(32bit and 64 - both are not working) and get a bluescreen. The program can be found in the taskmanager, but nothing is shown. After 10 sec or so it produces the bluescreen.
Before i started using UEFI(with normal old BIOS) it worked without any Problems.
What did I make wrong? Other Tools like HWinfo, Realtemp(didn't not get my FSB but Temprature worked), etc. worked without problems.
Is this a bug or am i missing something?

Specs that might help:

Lenovo T420 (4180PH2)
Core i7 2620m
6GB RAM
mSata SSD (OS installed)
Window 7 SP1 (doesn't seem to make a difference if the OS is fully updated or only fresh and clean)

Excuse me if my english isn't so well.

Kind Regards,

memphis

I'm hoping the next version will not have this issue. If you want to help testing, please come to the online chat and we'll see if there's a solution for this.
Core Temp should not, in any case cause a BSOD on any system. A BSOD from Core Temp is most likely driver related, and I'd like to see if the problem can be found quickly before the 1.0 Final is released.

Hi The Coolest,

thanks for answering. If my time will allow it, i will try to contact you Saturday 5th. But i can't promise it.
As i said i was wondering too. I've never have had problems with your tool until now. So let's hope the next release will fix it.
It must have something to do with Lenovo and their UEFI variant. I've already searched a while for this problem and their was nothing i could find.

Kind Regards,

mem
