Max Temps at TJ.Max Correct?

Post by Gizmo »

Core Temp 1.0 64bit
Intel Core i5 2500K (Sandy Bridge)
While running CPU stress test (Orthos Beta) on all 4 cores, Core Temp shows Max as = to the Tj.Max (98C) after the test is running a few minutes. I can reset the Min/Max, and the Max reverts to normal temps, but returns to 98C for all cores after 2-3 minutes. The "real-time" temps for the individual cores always appear to be normal (40-52C) but occasionally I do see a yellow temp flash by showing "98C?" and then the temp returns immediately to a normal temp. I assume these yellow temps (always 98C) are why the Max shows 98C. There is never a ! that appears next to any of the core temps.

Is this an indication that the cores are actually reaching 98C? or is this a problem with Core Temp for my particular processor?

It looks like you're using RC1, which had this bug.
I suggest you update to RC2, it will fix this problem.

PS. Thread merged with the main thread about this issue.

This issue happens to me everytime I open Skype

EDIT: Now I updated to 1.0 RC2 an will watch if it happens again. But where can I see that I installed RC2? In the About tab you can only see 1.0 64 bit.
