Coretemp 1.0 RC does not keep settings!

Post by matsuda0707 »

After install, I set up as follows;

Set "Start core termp mionimized" and "Close core temp to system tray" to ON, and "Enable Windows 7 Taskbar features" to OFF, but after system startup, all theserr settings became "default" indicating Core temp windows, temperatures in system notification area.

So I tried to startup core temp by its short cut in startup foplder ("start core temp with windows" is OFF), and it works OK.

Try setting everything you need to ON, and "start with windows" to OFF, click Apply. Then set "start with windows" back to ON and click OK.

I set as yout advise, it worked as I expect. But I can not understand why "start with windows" must be set as you told. I sounds like magic or secret. Normally most users set them simultaniously. I hope this will be fiixed in nett release.

You don't need "start with windows", you only need it if you want Core Temp to start when Windows starts. If you want to run it manually from the shortcut, you can do that, no problem.

I put Core temp shortcus in the startup folder and confirmed it works OK.
But I think that "start with windows" should work normally without resetting users settings.
I hope this will be fixed in the next release or "start with windows" work as to put shortcut in the startup folder to avoid confusion (in 0.998, it worked).

It does work normally. It's quite possible that you had Core Temp try to start up from a different location automatically, while the settings were saved in the new location.
Re-enabling "start with windows" simply points Windows to the new version, which you were configuring.

No.
I confirmed that only one Core temp was installed because I had uninstalled it and installed new one.
Also I installed Core temp on the other machine (no installation of core temp), the same error occured.

I can confirm that I was able to reproduce the problem, at least partially.
I'm currently working on a fix.
