Re: I7 975 clock speed appears incorrect

This is related to this topic. It'll be changed back to the way it was in 0.99.8 in RC2.

There is a small with the bus speed detection.
It's pretty rare, usually just pressing F5 (refresh) in Core Temp will detect the bus speed again and go to normal.

I have exactly the same problem with RC2.

Compared to AIDA64 Core Temp has different temps. Core Temp reports 2,7 - 2,9 and Aida 0,8 (very often) - 2,7 without 2,3 , 2,5 and so on. And it's not the only problem with this problem. Cpuz does the same thing, it jumps from 0,8 to 2,7 and back, Open hardware monitor , Speedfan also.

The only version of Core Temp which worked flawlessly for me was an old one, 0,98 maybe or 0.99, which I downloaded in my dropbox nearly one year ago. Sadly I can't find it on internet anymore.

I reviewed this issue before. I couldn't find any reason for this issue.
When I build my SNB system in a few weeks, I'll be able to do some proper debugging and see if I can get the problem fixed.

While I was playing with profiles I found that the problem appers only on high performance. Now I'm on balanced and Core temp is working.

Where I can find the older versions?

Only on the internet.

If you can see that on a different power profile Core Temp works, then it works just fine in general.
At high power profiles, the CPU will stay at the highest frequency it can, even turbo, while the load doesn't have to be that high.
There are many ways of getting the CPU frequency. On Sandy Bridge, Core Temp just uses the current multiplier values in the processor's MSRs.
