460M wrongly being reported as 540M

Post by tarunp »

I have a Presario CQ42 laptop with Intel's i5 460M CPU. My O/S is Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64-bit and I'm using CoreTemp 0.99.8

In Computer Properties, Windows 7 correctly identifies the CPU as M460 but CoreTemp identifies it as "Mobile Intel Core i5 540M (Arrandale).

Any ideas why this is happening?
