Gadget not showing OC on Sandy Bridge?

Post by preach »

I'm using an i5-2500k OC'd to 4.2GHz and it seems as though the Core Temp Gadget is still displaying the stock speed.

There is a bug in the current Core Temp version, where it will only display the processor's stock frequency.
A new version is coming soon, once I can sort some bureaucratic issues I've been having.

not sure what motherboard youre using, but im using an asrock extreme6. originally had issues with coretemp not reading temps correctly and not displaying the overclock correctly.

just updated to the new 1.60 BIOS. overclock still doesnt show correctly, but temps are now being reported slightly more accurately. before it was just showing the same temp on all cores at idle and then randomly fluctuating. now its not so bad. so for anyone on sandybridge, check if you have a new bios update waiting for ya.
