Core Temp shows random temperature spike.

Post by Mrlastway »

I have a slight problem with the temperature reporting of core temp where it randomly shows 112°C even though every other temperature monitoring software remains stable. It in itself is not a big problem since the temperature only shows 112°C for about 1/2 a second but it makes the overheat protection useless. I have a screen shot here showing the problem. It suddenly just pops to 112°C and then just pops back to normal.

I have been able to reproduce the problem a few more times now but to me it seems quite random. The CPU clock frequency and temp can sit anywhere in-between 1Ghz 23°C and 3.7Ghz and 50°C with 1-100% load and it still reads a random 112°C. If you want me to search for a specific problem in the software id be glad to help since its such a nice piece of kit.

Yesterday I installed SP1 and my 112°C problem resolved itself. But only to be replaced by this.
