CoreTemp reports slightly defrent then others

Post by NoBugsOnMe »

I just tested few apps all together under full CPU load (encoding video), while Aida (Everest) FanSpeed, RealTemp, Blackbox & HWMonitor reports temps of 71/73c, CoreTemp reports 66/68c. Which one is correct?

Different programs assume different TjMax values for Conroe based CPUs.
It's hard to say exactly which one is correct, but I found that a 95c TjMax is more suitable for these CPUs.
The other programs clearly use 100c TjMax, thus displaying temperature 5c higher than Core Temp.
