Well I found a version that works 0.99.1 :D Still not sure why 0.99.8 won't run anymore but I got it back.

First of all I would like to apologize for not replying sooner.

Have you been able to resolve the issue, or did you give up?
Will you be willing to give it another go, and maybe work with me a little bit to see if this problem can be found and fixed for the next release?

Nope I did not give up, as I stated in a previous post, I found a copy of 0.99.1 and it works just fine. Currently, I'm in the process of upgrading the 'computer-in-question' to Windows 7 with a larger HD. Most likely that will allow 0.99.8 to work, but I keeping 0.99.1 handy just in case 8)

As for taking so long to reply, not a problem, this is free software and we all have a life. I just realized I never really gave my computer specs. AMD Phenom II Quad Core 9850, 4GB DDR2-800, Windows Vista 32-bit, ASUS mobo (forgot which one.)

I'm currently happy with CoreTemp 0.99.8 at home and church (running a new Phenom II x6 . . . need a seat belt with this one.) My work computer has been the problem, but with the upgrade I think it will be fine. Something is corrupted in the registry or somewhere, I don't think it is a CoreTemp program issue.

Cool. Glad to hear you have sorted out the problem with 0.99.8.
I'm closing to releasing the Beta of v1.0 and so I wanted to talk to people who reported crashes with the previous version to make sure these problems don't get carried over to the new one.

I tried emailing re. my similar problems and today Core Temp fell over completely. So glad I stumbled over this forum. Thanks for the tip re. reverting to v 0.99.1, it works a treat :D

Restoring a working image backup didn't work either so maybe there's a clue there.

Please let me know your IM contact via private message. I'd like to have a quick debugging session with you, to make sure that this problem is not carried on to the next release.

Gave up on IRC groups, however, just flashed the firmware on my Seagate boot drive as it is known to fix slow cold boots apparently.

Now running Core Temp v0.99.8.0 - 64bit again and it seems okay on normal boot, but sometimes falls over on "Log off". See pic at http://members.iinet.net.au/~caleula/Core%20Temp/

Well that is the Core Temp Gadget, does it run ok at first and only does that when you log out?

Yes, usually the Core Temp Gadget is okay at first but sometimes it does it on log out :( Other times says Core Temp not started.

Also got MrFrosty's problem as per his pics at one stage.

Will see whether cold boot goes better the next few days, although the temperature this morning was 11 C and has been down to 1 C the rest of the week.

Our range is minus 4 C to positive 45 C. Haven't had 45 C for a few years now though.
