Wrong temp with AMD Phenom II X6 1055T

Post by Bar2D2 »

It shows 11 Celcius! LOL!
Prime95 can get it up to 28 Celcius in a room of 23 Celcius.......
Can't be right, can it?

Worked fine on all other CPUs I ve used it until now tho. Pitty.

This is definitely a bug  or does FAQ #7 apply? This doesn't explain why the mobo utility displays a realistic temperature.....
ASRock Overclock utility shows the corect temperature 25 Celcius while CoreTemp shows 12 C. ;(

Still, respect for the programmer and the freeware :!:

Yep, FAQ #7 applies in this situation.
You can simply add a 13-15C offset in Core Temp's setting to get a more realistic temperature readings and still be able to use Core Temp.

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (True Spirit 140 Direct) / Mobo: Asrock Fatal1ty X470 / EVO 970 500GB + WD Blue 250GB + HDD / GPU: Dell RX 570 4GB / Mem: 2x16GB DDR4-3200 G.Skill 32GTZKW TridentZ - 32GB total / PSU: Seasonic Prime Ultra Gold 650W

Is that what the mobo utility does? LOL! :o

I'm sure that it doesn't do that, the mobo uses a different sensor.
There is usually simply around 15c delta between what Core Temp shows and the actual core temperature.

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (True Spirit 140 Direct) / Mobo: Asrock Fatal1ty X470 / EVO 970 500GB + WD Blue 250GB + HDD / GPU: Dell RX 570 4GB / Mem: 2x16GB DDR4-3200 G.Skill 32GTZKW TridentZ - 32GB total / PSU: Seasonic Prime Ultra Gold 650W

Pitty though, takes the fun out of CoreTemp. You can't make it use the other sensor? ;)

As soon as you configure the offset, which takes just two clicks of a mouse you're set.
And I guess that it's possible, but it goes against Core Temp's principle of not being motherboard dependent - that other sensor is motherboard based.
