XP1600 - built to survive a nuclear meltdown..

...well maybe not quite but i was quite impressed and relieved that my XP1600 pally, clocked to 1533, survived the fan stopping and temperature of 92 degrees (celsius) measured by the mobo temp sensor :shock:

anyway even tho it was running at that temperature for about half an hour (according to MBM5 logs) it seems to work fine still - phew!

the highest i seen my cpu (amd dual core)

hit 99 celsius (Might have ben higher but the bios only gose to 99C)


it was clocked at 2.8Ghz 1.75 Vcore


it's an server type cpu (Opteron)

wow, this thread is resurrected from almost 4 years ago... i currently have a s939 3200 overclocked to 2800mhz or so, that runs on air, at 80C. i don't really care.
