Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 temperature

Post by CoreTemp-User252 »

Image

This is my Core 2 Quad Q8200 temperature. The last core is higher than other core at 58 C degree and almost never change even under load. Does anyone knows why? Is this normal?

Thank you..

Core #3 has a sticky sensor syndrome.
It's a hardware limitation of the thermal sensor in your processor. Simply ignore it.

mine are pretty high,right?...the high temperatures are from less than 5 minutes of prime95 and i also got a "possible hardware failure" error wich scared the hell outta me and made me stop torturing my poor i7 =( my case has got no fans installed so that might have something to do with the high temps, too.

Sorry, you're right.

75C is definitely not cool, but it is not critical.
Also hardware failure in Prime95 suggests some sort of instability, it could be processor, ram, other hardware related. So more extensive testing need to be done.

hmmm ,alright.thank you....i guess its too much for the box cooler to handle overclocking (even a mild 13% one) at a case w/o any fans installed and at a goddamed hot tropical country.today even without running any stress test progam, while just gaming core #0 just peaked at 81C while core #1 and #2 peaked at 78C and core #3 At 76C.....i am definitely going to completely remove the overclock and maybe even underclock the processor in the mean while i dont get fans at my case/a better cooler for my processor.

edit:
even with the processor with all overclock removed (actually its a little underclocked because its at 2645MHz)when i tried to run prime95 this time i didnt get any error but the temperatures at core 1 and core 0 reached 100C.thats with less than 10 minutes of prime95.that defnitely isnt normal ,right ?Guess i need to get fans and a better cooler than the box one ASAP
