Hopefully I will get the driver certified soon, that should solve some problems with Core Temp and Vista.

My main problem currently is that I don't have Vista, and no system that can actually run it.
Soon this is going to change, I'll be able to see why Vista refuses to run Core Temp properly.

For now there is a work around:
You reboot, on startup press F8, and select the option which disables the driver certification check, and continue. Then you should be able to run Core Temp as long as you're logged in with a user who has Administrator privilages.

If this workaround doesn't work, please let me know. Also if you could describe the problem better it would help. What Vista version is it (32bit/64bit) and what is the error that you are getting?

I'll try the F8 option and see what it does. Thanks for the quick reply!

So? Did it work for you?

It Works!

Sorry for the late reply, but yes, it did work! The only problem is that I cannot get to the settings screen. I do have the icon in the task menu, but I cannot set the options like logging, etc. Cool work around for now though, thanks! Edit: Found that by just creating a shortcut and running as administrator works just fine too. I sometimes get the option on the desktop, but not always.

Hopefully I'll have Vista up and running some time soon, so I will be able to see why Core Temp is not working properly on it

Thanks for that! Another update. It also seems to work fine if you set it to run in compatibility mode for XP. (BTW, I'm running Vista Business 32-bit). To get the File options to appear on the desktop, click on the Core Temp icon once to get the "bubble" and then double click on the icon and the main program will appear on the desktop. :)

Core Temp works pefectly on Vista 32-bit, just make sure you go to the exe properties, and under compatibility put a check on .. Run as an administrator.

everything works fine this way.

For those who are running Vista x64 (the 64bit version) and can't get Core Temp to run, read this thread:

Do you have any updates with regards to getting the driver signed?

You said it was going to happen, but that was some time ago.

I have User Account Protection (UAP) activated and even when running as administrator, then I get a popup about "An unidentified program wants to access your computer".

The solution for me was to create a Scheduled Task which runs CoreTemp with highest privileges. No prompt and still the safety of UAP.
