simple txt output

Post by BLBK »

First of all I would like to say that Core Temp is a superb program - small, yet powerfull :D

I have a little sugestion for the author:
I think it would be very usefull to add a simple output txt file - just like the log but only a single line that is updated.
The point is that the log file is getting bigger and bigger over the time that core temp is logging, and a single line file would be much smaller and could give a chance to read the temps with a external program(I guess that there is an other way to do that, but I have no idea how to make it).
The reason I'm requesting this is that I want to display the temps on my Logitech G15 LCD display and I'm not very advanced in programing.
What do you think about it?

If you select everything and copy it, then paste it into an Excel (or similar) spreadsheet, you'll get the perfect layout to create a graph etc.
Also, I'm planning on adding "Shared memory" to Core Temp, this will allow anyone design an app, or webpage, plugin, or anything which will report the basic things Core Temp reports, like basic CPU info, TCMs and most important CPU temperature.

All you have to do is have a little patience till I finish everything I'm planning for the next release.

I just wanted to toss my hat in for some kind of shared memory feature. Either a COM interface, or true shared memory, doesn't matter to me...but I would like to write a G15 plugin that reads info from Core Temp. I know your working on it, just thought I would toss out that there are others looking for this kind of information as well :)
