[Intel Atom] CoreTemp 0.99.5 shows wrong temperature

Post by CoreTemp-User143 »

Hi,

On an Asus EEEBox B202 (Intel Atom N270 CPU), with Windows XP SP3.

I've been using CoreTemp 0.99.4 (32 bit) and it worked very well, except for the temperature shown in the systray (too little to be read). So I switched to the latest beta version (0.99.5), which fixed that, but now the core temperature is wrong : it shows 8-10°C when it used to be 40-50°C.

BTW, excellent and useful piece of software

Apparantly the TjMax for this CPU can either be 125C or 90C.
I thought it would be better to leave it at 90C as most netbooks I tried it on showed correct temperature.
My suggestion is to set the offset in the program's options to 35.

Thanks for your fast answer. I've set the offset to 35 and the temperature seems now to be correct.

I've got the same CPU in a EeePC 1000H.
But I've to set the offset to 18 only to get correct degrees.
Any chance to read out correct degrees without setting an offset?

Nope, the only CPU which you can read it's actual TjMax value out from is the Core i7, no other CPU provides this option.
