0.99.4 System Tray numbers not readable (etc.)

Post by CoreTemp-User112 »

Problem introduced with 0.99.4: The temperature indicators in the system tray for both of my cores are suddenly so small that I can't read them anymore. Reverting back to 0.99.3 fixes this problem and the size of the font in the system tray is back to normal.

Also: The change log says that AMD AM2+ 65nm processors got a 21c offset. This change apparently resulted in my temps to be reported at around 70c, whereas they were previously around 50c. I cannot believe that the former really is the accurate temperature. I mean, 70 degrees in relative idle mode? Please clarify why you think that for my processor this 'correction' represents an accurate temperature measurement. My processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ (Brisbane).

Other than that, thanks for a great job! (but i'll stick with version 0.99.3 for now) :)

The tray icon problem will be fixed in the next release. Thanks for letting me know.

Regarding the offset, simply go to Tools --> Settings and set the offset to -21.

Much better. Thanks for the quick turnaround!

Love the new High/Low recording too :)

Quick suggestion: Change "G15 applet" menu item to something like "G15 Keyboard LCD" -- as I had no idea what a G15 applet is.

Just as an FYI, not only the Logitech G15 keyboard has this LCD screen, but also the Z-10 speakers from Logitech. They have the exact same LCD screen and the Core Temp applet works with it like a charm. Might be good to update the documentation to add the Z-10 speaker LCD-screen compatibility.
