Negative temp!

I just tried to use core temp (version 0.95.4) and i get a temperature of -49 degrees....

My cpu is a Mobile Sempron 2800+ (a HP nx6125 Notebook)

Any ideas?

What windows version are you running? XP\Vista? 32\64bit?

That's weird.
I guess that this CPU may not have a DTS.
It'd be very helpful if you could send me a "Register dump file" that CPU-z (http://www.cpuid.com) produces. I'd be able to see what the exact problem is.

That's strange. From the dump I can tell you the temp was 52C when you made it. Could you run Core Temp and while it was running make another dump file and post this part here?

Things are getting really weird.....

I started core temp and.. as usual -49º, but when i started cpu-z.... core temp begins to show me temperatures of 50º (+- 3º)

And when i close cpu-z, core temp is back at -49º

Maybe my computer is possessed!!! (That would explain a lot of things....) :P

Just kidding, but i recently had an mayor overheating: The cpu fan, for some unidentified reason, didn't start when the temp was raising, so my cpu reached the 80º. I feared that the sensor was burned, but it seems that is another problem...

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll talk to Franck (CPU-z author) and see what is it that he does to this register that magically causes it to stop working.

I will also edit your post with the txt dump as its huge and makes reading the thread hard.

I have got the same Problem. CPU Temp - 49°C

Used CoreTemp 0.99
System: WinXP SP 2
