Asus util showing VERY low temps, core temp showing low too!

Post by roveer »

I came upon core temp because my asus probe II utility for my P5K-V mobo was showing very low CPU temp 20-30c. I had read that mobo makers put the diode in bad locations so I figured core temp would show the honest temp based on what I read.

Using Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

Well, I ran core temp (running 95 right now, the latest beta rebooted my machine) and It's reporting core0 at 13c and core 1 at 9c at idle. Not possible as the room is warmer than that and the mobo temps are higher. Any idea what the problem is? I really want to find accurate temps on this processor.

Thanks,

Roveer

Does the reboot occur right when you start up the program ? or does it take a while to kick in. i believe .95.4 added support for this new processor...

reboot happened right away when I started the program. It was like double click, blank screen, post beep. Startled me at first, thought it was instability in my new build except I'm doing everything stock. I'll give the beta a few more tries and see if I can get it running. I read that some are able to get it to run 1 out of x tries. I'll also look in the event manager to see if I'm capturing any errors and will report to the reboot thread if I find any.

Running 95.4 right now and the temps seem to be reading properly. 35c on 0 and 31 on 1. Ran prime95 (2 instances, one on each proc) and temps went up to 50 & 48 respectivly so those seem to be normal temp readings. Running a GO stepping so a few less watts might account for slightly better temps. Haven't had any rebooting on 95.4 but have only run it a few times. Will continue to monitor.
