Doesn't show both cores

Post by ikono »

I have an Athlon X2 4800+ (Brisbane), however core temp only reports one core's temperature. Is that a limitation in the Athlon's processors, or a bug in the program, or something else entirely? (I use XP Pro)
Ok.... When I looked at the CPU in CPU-Z, it reports only one core... Why is that? Is there a bios setting I am forgetting or something?

I fixed that problem (HAL), but now a new one has cropped up. Coretemp is reporting the temperatures of the cores at around 15 degrees Celsius-- 20-25 under load. In the bios, it is a much more believable 40. (I have a Athlon X2 4800+ [65nm] and Asus M2V mobo [don't know exact revision]) While a simple reformat fixed my previous problem, the current problem still exists. (I had originally thought it to be a by-product of the previous problem)
