Re: Core Temp Monitor

You need to use the Core Temp Remote Server from step 3 in the 1st post in this thread.
That will fix it.

Re: Feature Requeust - Core Voltage (VCore) reading

Core Temp displays the processor's VID.
Adding support for VCore would require supporting motherboards and the accompanying HW monitoring chipsets.
This is out of Core Temp's current scope.

Re: Feature request - Top 5 processors shown in gadget

I can look into it, but I have my doubts about the feasibility of it considering the way the original gadget operated.
If they use some sort of sandbox, it just won't work at all from a technical standpoint.

What do you mean "doesn't run"? The gadget is designed for Windows Vista and Windows 7, and is not natively supported by newer versions.

Re: AMD Ryzen Temps and CoreTemp

That section in the FAQ is a bit outdated, it was referring to AMD generations between K10 (Phenom) and K15 (FX, *dozer).
Ryzen chips indeed have multiple sensors, and the next Core Temp version will introduce a large change to cater that.

Re: Core Temp - FAQ

The point of the program is to display the core temperature, and that's what it does. It makes no sense to look at the maximum temperature your CPU has reached potentially hours/days/weeks ago. You can increase the polling interval in the settings, that way it will change less often and be less dist...

Re: Core Temp - FAQ

Well, yes. It shows the highest temperature of any core on the CPU.
I don't see the point of displaying the highest temp the CPU has ever reached. For that you can open up the program window and look at the Max values.

Re: Ryzen 5 3600X incorrect clock speed

There are different ways of reporting frequency. On recent AMD processors, their response times to instantaneous loads is very fast. So a simple poll by monitor software for frequency can put the processor in a high power state very quickly, and make the software report the turbo (or close to full d...

Re: Temperatures - i5 9300HF (Coffe Lake)

I don't think you should worry. New CPUs are designed to run hot when needed, and they can handle the heat by reducing boost or even throttling, depending on the situation. High spikes of a few seconds is nothing to worry about, the CPU boosts to high turbo frequencies during game launch to perform ...

Re: WHat is Core Load in the CSV file?

Core Load is indeed the load on the core, but there are some things to be aware of. If your CPU has HT/SMT, then Core Temp will average the load between the 2 threads of a single physical core. This means that you can see 50% load, even though the physical core is actually at 100% utilization on one...

Re: Weird temps (100+ deg C) reported for Ryzen 9 5950X

This is odd. I have a 5950X also, and have not observed this behavior. Ryzen CPUs have a register by which it lets the monitoring software know the way it should calculate the temperature read from the sensor. It's either "value = temp" or "value - 49 = temp". From the looks of i...

Re: suspect readings under heavy load.

This can happen under extremely high load. When Core Temp does not get enough CPU time, the calculations can be off.
You can try to increase Core Temp's process priority and see if that solves the problem.

Re: V1.17.1 Xeon L5424 (Harpertown) Temp Issue core 2 & 3 with same number

In that generation of CPUs (LGA775\771, 45nm) there was a phenomenon usually referred to as "sticky sensors". Some of these chips' sensors would not read below a certain point. In your case, that point is 42C for cores 2 & 3. Put some stress on the CPU, and you will see the temps go up...
