Cool man, been playing with it for a while and I like what I see. Only suggestion I have at this point is the ability to dump the data to a formal log file assuming the user has logging disabled in CT. This dump would be a CTGrapher.exe feature, not a CT feature.

Keep up the great work!

VID changed in CT 0.99

What would cause the VID as reported by CT 0.99 to change? My X3360 used to report a VID of 1.1125V but now it's coming up as 1.2250V.

Core temp = TJMax - DTS TJMax = a constant. DTS = digital thermo sensor. there are one of these under (or above) each of your cores. If DTS that coretemp reads is 155 and your TJMax is 95 your core temp is 155-95=60 °C. There is some debate over what TJMax for a given processor really is since Inte...

It's all guess work at this point, bwm. Some of the unofficial responses to this from Intel include the fact that there are too many stepping changes (that is sub steppings) that aren't published and maintaining a list would be too difficult/confusing for software devs.

Total BS if you asked me.

Will consider it. Agreed, this is a must-have feature for CT in order to stay competitive with realtemp. Version 2.2 March 13, 2008: -changed TjMax from 95C to 85C for all M0 processors based on an IR temp reading. -fixed the log file so it can be read correctly in NotePad or WordPad -added a RealT...

Cool. I understand your point about using an external thermometer and that there has to be some difference between the actual core temp and the temp of the surface of the IHS. If you read through unclewebb's intro, he points out that intel doesn't publish tjmax for c2d and c2q chips... if that is tr...

I just wanted to you be aware of it so if true, you could adjust CT accordingly. I was also hoping you might download his util to compare it to CT and verify that CT is on the money with these newer chips.

Have a look at this post wherein "real temp" has been publicly released. They claim that Coretemp is to blame for some temp issues.

incorrect temp reading with q9540 and ct 0.96.1

I've read about others reporting that ct 0.96.1 (or any other app for that matter) doesn't read the temps correctly. Are the incorrect readings in a q9450 a function of the software, or hardware (the chip)?

Q9450, 9550, or 9650 anyone?

Do these chips play well with 0.96.1 of CT? I've read people complaining that the temps aren't accurate with yorkfield/penryn chips? Can anyone confirm?

Could be poor calibration or it could indicate that you have uneven contact between your IHS (internal heat spreader) on your chip and the base of your heatsink. Have a look at my results after I lapped my Q6600 and the base of my U-120 Extreme. Lapping Q6600 IHS Lapping the Ultra-120 Extreme Before...

0.95.4 minor frequency detection bug

Minor problem with the correct detection of FSB on my Q6600/P965-based system See the screenhot of CPUZ on the right depicting the correct FSB of 333 MHz x 8. I have closed/opened coretemp 0.95.4 several times and it always reads 8x375=3.0 GHz. Minor issue, but a bug nonetheless. http://img81.images...

Does it make the same miscalculation after you close it and reopen it? Mine will do something similar every now and then, but it usually gets it right on the 2nd time though.

For a 4400 they would be right near the redline. Have a look at the Intel Processor Finder which shows 62 °C max.

Are you opposed to having a 2k/XP version and a Vista version? I know there are lots of people out there who can't run 0.95 due to the crash who would love to have the 0.95.3 or .4 release as an OS-dependent app.
