Core Temp Monitor extension
hi Arthur, stumbled over CoreTempRemoteServer and the corresponding smartphone apps recently and like the possibility to show cpu temperatures and loads on my smartphone! i understand, coretemp is designed with cpu monitoring only in mind and thus is not supporting monitoring any other values. think...

ok, so lets bring some light into this: your delta between core and ambient temp might be higher than the readings suggest: i can imagine you are using a quality digital thermometer which is able to display temperatures at a resolution of 0.1C. the problem here is not the resolution, the problem is ...

Hi, as it happens I was doing some underclocking experiments yesterday with an M0 2140 and coretemp 0.96. (ie the 100°c tjmax version). With vcore of 0.9 and clock of 6 x150, cooling at maximum, the chip was idling at 17°c above ambient, as measured by coretemp. Full orthos load only added anothe...

Calculating the temperature is indeed done like so: Temp = Tj. Max. - DTS value. So basically when you change the Tj. Max to a higher value, the temperature reported would be higher by the same delta. That's why I believe the throttling tests don't prove much of anything as it could just as well be...

drkuli , http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/Core-Duo-Temperature-Guide-ftopict221745.html i would not rely too much on this post over at the thg forums. there are a lot of misinterpretations in it! lets start with the things you can confirm by looking at intel datasheets: Datasheet http://www....

how about adding dts readouts
the coolest, would it be possible to add plain dts readouts to the next version of coretemp? coretemp calculates temperatures based on ttc activation temperature and therefore relies on getting the correct value for ttc activation temperature. as from all i have read so far it is impossible to read ...

Yes I have looked at it. And from what I understood that other way is not what you use to detect absolute Tjmax. There's no way to detect absolute Tjmax. I really don't know what to tell you right now. More digging needs to be done. you might be right! i will have a closer look into this during the...

Well, my best guess is that the Tjmax (Tjunction in Core Temp) is supposed to be read as 100C on these processor no matter what the MSR which Core Temp reads reports. have you had a look at the Intel® Software Network forum i mentioned in one of my earlier posts? if i understand this correctly, ...

hi The Coolest, unfortunately i have to confirm this! changed to a e4300 today and have to recognize coretemp seems to display wrong temps! coretemp shows idle temps a few degrees below ambient temp! thats enough evidence for me to believe there is something wrong. core temperatures cant fall below ...
