The fix for me was to go to Task Scheduler and edit the Core Temp Autostart schedule.
Go to the Triggers tab. Click "Edit". Check the "Delay task for:" box and select either 30 seconds or 1 minute.
I tested bother 30 seconds and 1 minute delay, and both worked on my computer.

Core Temp Not Always Starting Minimized
I have noticed recently on both my Windows 10 and 11 computers that Core Temp is not always starting minimized at Windows startup. Instead, it sits on the taskbar. I have "Start Core Temp Minimized" selected, as usual. I'm using the default Core Temp Autostart Task Scheduler entry. No chan...

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
I have tested RC7 on my Core i7 4770K Haswell CPU computer, and so far it seems OK.
I have rebooted twice without any noticeable problem. I will keep you updated.
BTW. I have now noticed a problem with RC6 on my Intel Core i7 3930K Sandy Bridge computer, so I might try RC7 on that one too.

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
So it seems to affect Win8.1 specifically and both Intel and AMD systems (but not all of them). I've installed Win8.1 on a couple systems I have here, and none exhibit this problem. Could you please mention which GPU you have installed and what version of drivers you are using? Hi Coolest. From my ...

Core Temp 1.0 RC5 Standalone
Here is Core Temp 1.0 RC5 standalone. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. You can't use the installer as it will just download RC6 again. Just exit Core Temp, then copy and replace the files in the program folder. :>: I hope the developer doesn't mind. If you do, just let me know and I will remove it....

Re: Coretemp RC6 Freezes Windows 8 64bit
I was also having trouble on my Intel Core i7 4770K Haswell powered computer.
After signing in to Windows 8.1 64-bit, Windows would not load fully and become unresponsive.
I would have to hit the reset button and keep rebooting until I finally managed to get into Windows.

Re: Change Background Color In Core Temp Gadget
Thanks for your reply.
One other thing I noticed was that I changed the background size from 100% to 83% to match the width size of my other gadgets, and after a restart the gadget was not displaying anything and had changed size.

Re: Font preferences won't stay applied
This is a great app, but I will say that the font types or sizes do not stick at all.
And you don't need to reboot for Core Temp to forget.
If you just go back into settings after setting your new font, the font settings will be forgotten.
Take care...
